KHS Annual Talent Show
Proceeds to benefit Scholarship in honor of the late Dr. Pamela Herring, KHS Assistant Principal
Our History and the Scholarship
The Annual KHS Talent Show originated in 2009 with the proceeds to benefit the KHS Dr. Pamela Herring Scholarship fund. This scholarship was created by the Senior Class of 2008 to honor our late assistant principal. The Senior Class has since joined forces with NHS and, with contributions by SGA and other school organizations, we have succeeded in keeping the funding for this scholarship ongoing.
The KHS scholarship is in addition to the memorial scholarship that is funded by Dr. Herring's family.
The KHS Scholarship is awarded to a senior or to a given number of seniors in the amount of $250 - $500 each depending on the amount of funds raised each year. The one-time award goes to the school account at the college the each recipient has chosen to attend.
Recipients are required to provide the KHS bookkeeping office staff with proof of enrollment to receive the award.
The award is forfeited if the student does not enroll within the school year following his/her high school graduation.
Applications are accepted in April of each school year. Financial need and interest in teaching/education are are primary considerations. Recipients are announced at the Awards Ceremony in early May. Contact Hal Bedell, Julie McKenzie or Jill Smith for more information about the KHS Dr. Pamela Herring Scholarship as well as the Dr. Pamela Herring Memorial Scholarship sponsored by the Herring Family.
Scholarship application Forms will be available in late March/early April.
