KHS Community Service Hours - Requirements
Service Forms are available in the KHS Library Media Center or you may download a copy from link below.
NHS members must perform a MINIMUM of 10 community service hours per school semester.
No more than 4 hours will be given per single event or activity.
Community service hours also may be used for the service requirements of TN Promise, TN Scholar, a variety of college scholarships, JROTC or other school clubs and service organizations. Requirements for these organizations may differ than those of our NHS Chapter. Please refer to the TN Achieves website for details and to document your
TN Promise community service hours online.
All service hours must be verified and signed off by the activity's supervising adult.
Parents and relatives may not sign for service hours unless the activity is pre-approved by the NHS sponsor.
Community service hours are those performed on a volunteer basis without any type of compensation, grade or credit.
Service hours may be obtained at school if performed outside of course/class requirements.
Membership duties and obligations of this or any other organization do not count as community service hours unless otherwise noted.
These are service projects and ideas submitted from NHS membership throughout the country and compiled on the National Student Project Database. Members can ask NHS sponsors for log-in information to the NHS website.
